Heterozygous mutations of GATA3, a dual zinc-finger transcription factor, cause the hypoparathyroidism, deafness and renal dysplasia (HDR) syndrome. To study the role of GATA3 in parathyroid function we have investigated Gata3+/− mice for hypoparathyroidism.
